Speechmatics cuts real-time enhanced STT to /bin/bash.43/hr
Speechmatics cut real-time enhanced speech-to-text from /bin/bash.56 to /bin/bash.43/hr, added a /bin/bash.129/hr multilingual Batch Melia 1 model, and grew the free tier to 3,000 minutes (50 hours) per month.

Speechmatics trimmed its self-serve Pro rate card for the third time since 2023. Real-time enhanced accuracy — the SKU that powers live voice agents — dropped from /bin/bash.56/hr to /bin/bash.43/hr, a ~23% cut. Batch Standard (/bin/bash.24/hr), Batch Enhanced (/bin/bash.40/hr), and Real-time Standard (/bin/bash.24/hr) are unchanged.
The update also introduces a new multilingual Batch Melia 1 model at /bin/bash.129/hr — now the lowest per-hour rate on the Pro tier and the new “from /bin/bash.129/hr” headline. Melia 1 transcribes multi-language audio in a single transcript (matching Standard on accuracy) and is available for batch transcription only.
The monthly free allowance grew again, from 2,400 minutes to 3,000 minutes (50 hours) — split 1,200 real-time (20 hrs) + 1,800 batch (30 hrs). Text-to-speech (/bin/bash.011/1k characters), the speech-to-text bolt-ons, the automatic 20% volume discount over 500 hr/month, and the 33% Model-Training discount are all unchanged.
Current snapshot: real-time enhanced accuracy cut $0.56→$0.43/hr. New multilingual Batch Melia 1 model added at $0.129/hr (now the lowest Pro rate; Pro headline reads 'from $0.129/hr'). Free monthly allowance grew to 3,000 min (50 hrs): 1,200 real-time (20 hrs) + 1,800 batch (30 hrs). Batch Standard $0.24, Batch Enhanced $0.40, Real-time Standard $0.24 unchanged; TTS $0.011/1k chars, bolt-ons and 20%/33% discounts unchanged.
