MiniMax refreshes API lineup — M3 flagship, M2.7 line, Music 3.0, and new MCP + server-tool billing
MiniMax's API card now leads with M3 and M2.7 at $0.30/M, launches Music 3.0 at $0.15/track, and adds per-call MCP and web_search billing — API-vlm cut to $0.01/call effective July 22, 2026.
Per-token API led by MiniMax-M2/M3 at $0.30/$1.20; Music 2.6; no MCP or server-tool billing surface; M1/M2 as headline models.
Flagship M3 plus MiniMax-M2.7 (and M2.7-highspeed at $0.60/$2.40) at $0.30/$1.20; M1/M2/M2.5 moved to Legacy; Music 3.0 at $0.15/track; new per-call MCP (API-vlm $0.01, cut from $0.06) and server-tool (web_search $0.01) billing. Token Plan held at $20/$50/$120 with a 2x-tokens revamp.
MiniMax refreshed its international USD API card in mid-2026. The branded M2 line is now MiniMax-M2.7 (with an M2.7-highspeed tier at $0.60/$2.40 out), while MiniMax-M3 — a frontier coding/agentic model on the novel MSA sparse-attention architecture with 1M context — sits at the top of the lineup. Both bill at $0.30/M input and $1.20/M output (cache reads $0.06/M); M1, M2 and M2.5 have moved under “Legacy Models.”
Two changes touch the meter directly. Music 3.0 launches at $0.15 per up-to-5-minute track (with a free RPM-3 tier), replacing Music 2.6 as the headline music model at price parity. And MiniMax adds a per-call tool-billing surface that our page did not previously track: MCP (API-vlm) and server tools (web_search) now bill $0.01 per call/request, deducting from Token Plan quota before purchased Credits. API-vlm was cut from $0.06 to $0.01 per call effective July 22, 2026.
Headline economics held: per-token rates ($0.30/$1.20), the Token Plan ladder ($20 Plus / $50 Max / $120 Ultra), and Credits (1,000 = $1) are unchanged — though a Token Plan revamp roughly doubled the included tokens at the same price, marketed as “$20 = 10x Claude Pro” and “up to 12.5B tokens/month.”
Live USD international card: flagship MiniMax-M3 and MiniMax-M2.7 at $0.30/M in / $1.20/M out (cache read $0.06), M3 >512k and M2.7-highspeed at $0.60 / $2.40; M1/M2/M2.5 moved to 'Legacy Models.' Music 3.0 launches at $0.15/track (free tier at RPM 3). New per-call surfaces: MCP API-vlm cut $0.06→$0.01/call (effective 2026-07-22) and server-tool web_search at $0.01/request, both deducting from Token Plan quota then Credits. Token Plan held at $20/$50/$120 with a '2× tokens' revamp (up to ~12.5B tokens/month).
