GitHub pauses self-serve purchases of Copilot Business and Enterprise
GitHub paused new self-serve purchases of Copilot Business ($19/user/mo) and Enterprise ($39/user/mo) on April 22, 2026; new org customers must now contact sales while self-serve is said to be reopening soon.
Copilot Business ($19 USD/user/mo) and Copilot Enterprise ($39 USD/user/mo) were purchasable self-serve, alongside a sales-assisted path for larger deployments.
New self-serve purchases of Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise are paused, including self-serve trials. GitHub's docs and the Copilot for Business marketing page direct new organization customers to 'Contact sales'; list prices ($19 / $39 per user/month) and existing subscriptions are unaffected.
GitHub’s “Plans for GitHub Copilot” documentation now carries an “Important” notice stating that on April 22, 2026 — two days after individual Pro/Pro+/Max/student sign-ups were paused, and five days before the GitHub AI Credits migration was announced — new self-serve purchases of Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise were also paused. As of this check (captured 2026-08-27), the docs still describe self-serve sign-ups for customers paying by credit card or PayPal as “reopening soon,” and self-serve trials remain paused. The Copilot for Business marketing page reflects the same state: its calls to action are “View plans & pricing” and “Contact sales,” with no self-serve purchase flow visible. This is a distribution change, not a price change — Business and Enterprise list prices are unchanged at $19 and $39 per user/month.
