Deepgram launches Flux TTS, free through September 12, 2026
Deepgram added a new text-to-speech model, Flux TTS, running free (up to 45 concurrent streaming connections globally, 5 in EU/AU) through 9/12/2026, then $0.0450/1k characters Pay-As-You-Go ($0.0405/1k Growth) from 9/13/2026.
Text-to-Speech (Aura) was Deepgram's only TTS product: Aura-2 at $0.030/1k characters PAYG and Aura-1 at $0.0150/1k characters PAYG, both discounted ~10% on Growth.
A second TTS model, Flux TTS, sits alongside Aura-2/Aura-1 — free through 9/12/2026, then $0.0450/1k characters PAYG ($0.0405/1k Growth). While the Flux TTS promo is live, the Voice Agent API's Standard, Custom-BYO LLM, and Advanced tiers are billed at their cheaper BYO-TTS rates (e.g. Standard drops from $0.075/min to $0.056/min PAYG through 9/12).
Deepgram’s pricing page (captured 2026-08-25) added a new row to its Text-to-Speech table: Flux TTS, positioned above Aura-2 and Aura-1. The page states developers can build with Flux TTS free through September 12, 2026, with up to 45 concurrent streaming connections globally (5 in EU/AU); standard pricing of $0.0450/1,000 characters (Pay-As-You-Go) or $0.0405/1,000 characters (Growth) applies starting September 13, 2026.
The launch also temporarily reshapes Voice Agent API pricing: a banner reads “Flux TTS in Voice Agent is free through September 12, 2026. Standard, Custom-BYO LLM, and Advanced tiers are billed at BYO TTS rates when using Flux TTS during this period.” Concretely, through 9/12 the Standard tier is $0.056/min Pay-As-You-Go (vs. its regular $0.075/min) and $0.051/min Growth (vs. $0.068/min); Advanced is $0.122/min Pay-As-You-Go through 9/12 (vs. $0.163/min) and $0.110/min Growth (vs. $0.146/min). These are promotional, time-boxed prices tied to the Flux TTS trial, not permanent cuts to the Standard/Advanced tiers.
Separately, the Speech-to-Text Add-ons table gained a new row, Entity Detection ($0.0017/min Pay-As-You-Go and Growth), for extracting person names, organizations, locations, and dates from transcripts.
