LanceDB folds self-serve 'Cloud' tier into LanceDB Enterprise

LanceDB pricing

LanceDB dropped the self-serve 'Cloud' product name from its docs and marketing; the only paid tier is now Enterprise, sold via annual commit as Managed or BYOC deployment.

Before

Three tiers: free OSS, LanceDB Cloud (serverless, usage-based, free during public beta, no minimum commitment, self-serve sign-up), and LanceDB Enterprise (sales-led, annual commit, BYOC).

After

Two tiers: free OSS, and LanceDB Enterprise (sales-led, annual commit) offered as either a Managed (LanceDB-hosted) or BYOC deployment. No self-serve, no-commitment paid option is publicly documented.

LanceDB’s documentation site (docs.lancedb.com) no longer has a page for “LanceDB Cloud” — the URL that previously described it now returns a 404, and the sidebar navigation lists only two product editions, “LanceDB OSS” and “LanceDB Enterprise.” The Enterprise docs explain two deployment flavors, Managed (LanceDB-hosted) and BYOC (installed in the customer’s cloud account) — Managed appears to be the direct successor to what was previously marketed as Cloud, except it is now sold on the same annual-commit contract as BYOC rather than offered free with no minimum. LanceDB’s competitor-comparison landing pages (versus Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Redis, pgvector, Elastic, and others) are now all titled ”… vs LanceDB Enterprise,” and the homepage no longer carries “Pricing,” “Log in,” or “Sign up” navigation links that were present as recently as a March 2026 Wayback snapshot (which also showed a live, self-serve Cloud pricing calculator with published per-unit rates). The public lancedb.com/pricing page remains a plain contact form, unchanged from the prior capture; the AWS Marketplace “LanceDB Enterprise – Annual Commit” listing ($60,000/year plus $0.01 per LCU overage) is also unchanged.
