Customer engagement platform orchestrating lifecycle campaigns across channels.
Braze is a customer engagement platform that sends and orchestrates messaging across email, push, in-app, SMS, and webhooks, driven by real-time behavioral data. Lifecycle and growth teams use its Canvas journey builder to run onboarding sequences, activation nudges, re-engagement and win-back campaigns, and cross-channel promotions. Originally strongest in consumer mobile, it is increasingly used by product-led B2B companies for lifecycle messaging. In the revenue stack it is the outbound communication layer for retention and expansion motions, fed by product analytics and CDP data.

Braze's edge is real-time, event-driven orchestration at consumer scale — journeys react to behavior in the moment rather than on batch schedules. Its stream-based architecture and cross-channel depth distinguish it from email-first marketing automation tools retrofitted with extra channels.

Its center of gravity is consumer and prosumer scale, but product-led B2B companies with large self-serve user bases use it effectively for onboarding, upgrade nudges, and win-back. Sales-led B2B with small user counts usually gets more from a CS platform or lighter lifecycle tool.
They are complementary. The CDP unifies and models customer data, and Braze consumes that data to decide who gets which message when. Braze holds its own profile store, but most stacks treat the CDP or warehouse as the source of truth feeding it.
